I don't recommend sealer or something puddy dope or whatever it's called. I brushed it on the pipe threads last week. Today I had to take apart the pipe fittings. I noticed the sealer wasn't dry where it was in contact with water and the excess sealer washed into the line…so yeah I found out the problem why there wasn't much water coming out of my faucets.
Thanks. The last bit of screwing threads first counter-clockwise also works well when refitting a self-tapping screw – ie. feel it into the thread.
don't forget to wipe the flux off of your solder joints so they don't turn green and corrode like this guys
copper pipe? is it 1960?
95% +95% = 100%. 2:25
Never seen a house with a "hydrant". What is it for??
You guys still use copper plumbing in North America? That's so archaic.
Really great video, I genuinely learned a lot.
its jod. Same for soft metal seats. 2 times around the treads is plenty. Using pipe dope and tape is redundant and un-necessary, possibly counter productive,
Dunno about 3. Had it for 10 years and still going without any problems. (Kitchen sink)
Completely off topic but I was wondering if you were from Quebec.
Use this, or this , or this lol
ALWAYS tape first, then dope. I put 30 barrier free showers in the last couple years without one single leak.
Shark bite is garbage. No self-respecting plumber would use that garbage.
1) Real plumbers don’t use sharkbite fittings. Read the fine print. NOT FOR PERMANENT USE
2) If I hear “soul-der-ing” instead of “sod-der-ing” again I’m gonna lose it
3) If you’re an idiot and cross thread fittings that your own stupidity
Other than that good video.
Lol
Not heard of Pipe Dope. What do they call it in the UK? The nearest product I can think of is Plumbers Mate but I wouldn’t have thought to use that on copper fittings. Thanks.
Ryan homes attached every sink and appliance in my home with plain plastic hoses 🙁
1:54 really? Well mine are form the 90s and still good
I have a problem with my drain, it doesn't suck the water down. Help please.
Great video. Thank you.
The L in solder is silent, dude.
umm yeah so youtubes think model making and plumbing are similar. well apart from the shit they kinda are……… blessed are those to weak to doubt
@5:27 for wood, you have to drill an smaller hole before inserting screw otherwise, as in video, wood will break and screw become useless.
There's no reason to use pipe dope and thread tape. Don't want pipe dope in the plumbing and if it's still leaking after you add tape then I'd make sure the threads aren't messed up on the fittings
I didn’t know about the pipe dope + teflon thing !
Excellent tips.
