Another quick informative video. You are GOLD !
I like your videos
hot air gun thing ..excellent
For measurements with black iron I always found measuring Center to Center on a 90 minus fitting allowance works great and is easy to remember (hint 1/2" pipe=1/2" fitting allowance per 90. 3/4" pipe=3/4" and so on till 1 1/2" pipe)
awesome.
Smear pipe dope on the threads of the abs can threads, makes life easier.
That pvc is unusable now
Genius stuff. I enjoy "picking your brain" watching your videos. Thank you.
Thanks for the black iron threaded tip. I use black and galvanized often at work and didn't know that one (i'm a ship's engineer, not a plumber).
Lol buy a new can
"pound the can till you get to the bottom" 🙂
I've watched a lot of tips and tricks videos for plumbing, you have a few I've never seen or have rarely seen. Great content!
Heat gun on the pcv fitting isnt a good way to do it. Warps fitting if you go to use again.
Totally destroyed that fitting with those needle nose pliers.
you can't reuse a pipe that been heated like in the video, it was so distorted and useless when he removed the inner with pliers.
Haha go buy a heat gun, yea im gonna carry that onto a job. A tool bought specifically for when u fuck up. . smh. Be a badass and use your torch!
Hammering the glue tin down is a good idea, but maybe the manufacturers could make a longer brush.
I measure to face of each fitting and add an inch
Drain test
Stuff white bread down a pipe that you are trying to solder that is at ground level and holding water. It stops the water from running into the pipe long enough to get it hot
Very useful thank you
No shortcuts dude
I know how much time it takes in one's career to learn these "tricks", good work!
This is really funny good sh:t !
Hey dude! I learned so much from you thank you
#1 To clean an aerator. Place the plastic disc with the holes in it in the palm of your hand, upstream side up. Take a butter knife and strike the disc sharply with the back of the blade. All the particles will pop out the way they went in. #2 When cutting and threading steel pipe(only on 1/2", 3/4'" and 1") center to center, minus twice the pipe size. #3 When using a copper cleaning brush, never go back and forth. Always turn the brush in the same direction. It'll last longer. #4 Have a Durham fitting or galvanized fitting that's old? Afraid the pipe might not unscrew? Strike the hub gently all the way around with your hammer This breaks the bond between the two surfaces and makes it easy to unscrew the pipe. #5 Before using glue, coat the threads on the can with dope, screw the cap on so there's dope on the female threads on the cap and wipe off excess dope. You're ready to go. No more not being able to screw the cap on when you're done. And It won't dry out or leak. Glue won't stick to dope.#6 Have a close nipple in copper that you need to clean? Don't put your dirty hands on that clean pipe! Take a piece of sand cloth a little longer. Twist it and clean both ends at the same time. No! Don't put a finger in one end to hold it while you clean the other end. You'll have a nice circular cut on your finger. #7 Need to remove an existing copper fitting? Use an adjustable wrench. Adjust the wrench so it slides on the pipe but not the hub. When you think the fitting is hot enough, slide the wrench down against the hub and the fitting will pop off. Works really well for removing caps.
I got one for you, actually it is a question, working on a drain 1 1/2 Roof Vents FULL of Acorns any idea of Easy removel ???
